CPS Test: Check Your Clicks Per Second
How fast can you click? Take this CPS test (clicks per second) by clicking the big box as fast as you can. The timer starts with your first click. Choose 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds and try to beat your personal best, saved in your browser.
Scores are kept only in your browser.
Quick answer: Pick a time, then click the blue box as fast as you can. Your CPS (clicks per second) is your total clicks divided by the seconds. Most people score 5 to 7 CPS.
How the CPS test works
- Choose a test length. 5 seconds is the most popular; 1 second shows your burst speed; 30 and 60 seconds test stamina.
- Click the box to start. The box turns green and the timer counts down.
- Keep clicking until the time runs out. Your clicks per second, total clicks and rating appear, and your best score for that length is saved in your browser.
On a phone, tap the box; on a keyboard, focus the box and press Space or Enter (holding a key doesn’t count).
What is a good CPS score?
| Clicks per second | Level |
|---|---|
| Under 4 | Relaxed |
| 4 to 6.5 | Average |
| 6.5 to 9 | Above average |
| 9 to 12 | Very fast, typical of practised gamers |
| 12 and up | Exceptional; usually needs a special clicking technique |
Clicking techniques to raise your CPS
- Regular clicking: one finger, relaxed wrist. Comfortable and accurate.
- Jitter clicking: tensing the forearm so the hand vibrates. Fast, but tiring; take breaks to avoid strain.
- Butterfly clicking: alternating two fingers on the same button. Very fast on mice that register it.
- Drag clicking: dragging a finger across the button so friction makes it bounce. Depends heavily on the mouse.
Rest if your hand or wrist hurts. Fast clicking for long periods can cause repetitive strain.
Why click speed matters in games
In Minecraft PvP, a faster click rate can help with block-hitting and bridging, though modern versions add an attack cooldown. In clicker and idle games, more clicks mean faster progress. Many players also use CPS tests to check that a new or old mouse registers every click; if your score drops suddenly, the switch may be wearing out or double-clicking.
Test your speed in other ways with the reaction time test and the typing test.
FAQ
Is this the same as the Kohi click test?
Yes. It measures clicks per second in the same way and lets you choose the duration.
Does it save my score?
Your best score for each length is saved in this browser only.
