HP has launched the industry’s first “Plug and Print” Printers, which basically means now you can simply connect your computer to the printer, without the need to install any CD software!

You might be standing beside a printer in desperate need to print, but the most irritiating part is your laptop or netbook lacks the printers software and drivers, and you are unable to print. Now that is going to change as the printer manufacturers have taken a major step. Expect to see this feature in most printers in the near future.

PLUG and PRINT – connect your computer with a printer using USB, and press Print!

HP announced they have upgraded the HP LaserJet Pro printer line with the new ”plug and print” technology allowing any netbook, notebook or desktop PC to print using their printers with a USB cable – no CD required.

New monochrome printers featuring HP Smart Install include the HP LaserJet Pro P1100 Printer series, HP LaserJet Pro M1130/M1210 Multifunction Printer (MFP) series and the HP LaserJet Pro P1566/P1606dn Printer series. HP Smart install will install the required drivers when you connect to the printer and print via USB.
