Small Text Generator: Tiny Text to Copy and Paste

This small text generator turns normal text into tiny letters you can copy and paste anywhere: ᵗⁱⁿʸ superscript text, ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ and ₛᵤᵦₛ꜀ᵣᵢₚₜ letters. Type below, then click Copy next to the style you like.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to or stored on our server.

Quick answer: Type your text in the box. Three small styles appear at once: superscript (the tiniest), small caps and subscript. Click Copy and paste it into a bio, caption, username or message.

How the small text generator works

Social apps don’t let you change font size, but Unicode, the standard that defines every character on your phone, includes many small letters used in maths, phonetics and linguistics. This tool swaps each normal letter for its small look-alike. Because the result is made of real characters, not formatting, it stays small wherever you paste it.

Small text styles explained

  • Tiny (superscript): letters raised and shrunk, like ᵗʰⁱˢ. The most popular style for bios and aesthetic captions.
  • Small caps: capital letter shapes at lowercase size, like ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ. Easier to read than superscript and good for names.
  • Subscript: letters that sit below the line, like ₕₑₗₗₒ. Unicode only has subscript forms for some letters, so others stay normal.

Where you can use tiny text

  • Instagram and TikTok bios, captions and comments.
  • Discord names and messages, Twitch chat, X posts.
  • Game nicknames where the game allows Unicode.
  • Footnote-style marks such as ¹ ² ³ in plain-text documents.

Small text ideas to copy

Not sure what to write? These are popular ways people use tiny letters. Type your own version in the box to get every style.

  • Bio taglines: a short line under your name, such as “ᵖʰᵒᵗᵒᵍʳᵃᵖʰᵉʳ ⁺ ᵗʳᵃᵛᵉˡᵉʳ” or “ᴄᴏꜰꜰᴇᴇ ꜰɪʀꜱᴛ”.
  • Captions: a quiet afterthought at the end of a post, like “ᵇᵉˢᵗ ᵈᵃʸ ᵉᵛᵉʳ”.
  • Usernames and nicknames: small caps keep a name readable while making it look different from everyone else’s.
  • Footnotes and units: x², m³, H₂O or CO₂ in plain-text messages where formatting isn’t available.
  • Whispered text in chats: tiny letters work like a softer voice, perfect for jokes and asides.

Mix styles sparingly. One small-caps line next to normal text looks deliberate; a whole bio in superscript is hard to read on a phone screen.

Limits to know

Unicode doesn’t have a small version of every letter. There is no superscript q, for example, so the tool uses the closest match, and subscript only covers about 17 letters. Very old phones may show empty boxes for some characters. Screen readers read many of these characters oddly, so avoid tiny text for important information, such as a link or a phone number, and keep a normal version nearby.

Small text in Word and Google Docs

For documents you don’t need special characters. In Microsoft Word press Ctrl+Shift+= for superscript and Ctrl+= for subscript, or use Ctrl+Shift+K for small caps. In Google Docs, use Ctrl+. for superscript and Ctrl+, for subscript. Real formatting is better for print and accessibility; Unicode small text is for places that don’t allow formatting.

FAQ

How do I make small text on Instagram?

Type your text above, copy the tiny style and paste it into your Instagram bio or caption.

Is small text the same as a smaller font?

No. It is a set of special characters that look small, so it works where fonts can’t be changed.

Why do some letters stay big?

Unicode has no small form for those letters in that style, so the normal letter is kept.

Can I make tiny numbers?

Yes. Superscript and subscript include all digits, such as ¹²³ and ₁₂₃.
