Tips for the best quality
- Make images smaller, not bigger. Enlarging can only stretch the pixels you have, so the result looks soft. The resizer shrinks in steps for sharp results.
- Choose the right format. JPG and WebP suit photos; PNG suits screenshots, logos and images with transparency.
- Quality 80 to 90 gives files that look the same as the original but are much smaller.
- Transparent areas turn white when you save as JPG, because JPG has no transparency.
Need a smaller file without changing the dimensions? Use the image compressor. To change only the file type, use the image converter, and to work out matching dimensions, try the aspect ratio calculator.
FAQ
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The image is resized with your browser’s built-in canvas, so it never leaves your device. That makes it safe for personal photos and documents.
Is there a size limit?
Images up to about 10,000 pixels on each side work in most browsers. Very large photos may be slow on older phones.
Does resizing remove EXIF data?
Yes. The new file does not include camera details or GPS location, which is good for privacy when sharing photos online.
