Days Between Dates Calculator: Count Days, Weeks and Workdays
This days between dates calculator counts exactly how many days there are from one date to another. You also get the gap in weeks, months and years, the number of business days (Monday to Friday), and a second calculator that adds or subtracts days, weeks or months from any date.

Add or subtract from a date
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to or stored on our server.
Quick answer: Pick a start date and an end date. The calculator shows the number of days between them straight away, plus weeks, months and business days. Tick Include the end date if both the first and the last day should count.
How to use the days between dates calculator
- Choose the Start date. It is set to today, so you can see how many days are left until a deadline or event.
- Choose the End date. By default it is 31 December, which shows the days left this year.
- Read the result. If you enter the dates the wrong way round, the calculator swaps them for you.
- Use Add or subtract from a date to find the date 90 days from today, 6 weeks ago or 3 months later.
Should I include the end date?
By default the calculator counts the days between two dates, the way you would count nights in a hotel: Monday to Wednesday is 2 days. Tick Include the end date when every calendar day counts, such as for a holiday, a course or a hospital stay: Monday to Wednesday is then 3 days. Rental, visa and notice-period rules differ, so check which way your contract counts.
How business days are counted
Business days are Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are shown separately as weekend days. Public holidays are not taken off, because they differ between countries and states, so subtract your local holidays from the business-day figure yourself. In the second calculator, Business days skips weekends, which is handy for “delivery in 10 working days” or “reply within 5 business days”.
How months and years are counted
The years, months and days figure works like a birthday: from 15 January to 14 March is 1 month and 27 days, because the count only reaches 2 months on 15 March. When you add months to a date near the end of the month, the result moves to the last day of a shorter month. For example, 31 January plus 1 month gives 28 February, or 29 February in a leap year.
Popular date calculations
- Days until Christmas or New Year: set the end date to 25 December or 1 January.
- Countdown to a wedding, exam or trip: leave the start date as today and pick the event date.
- Days since an event: pick the past date as the start and today as the end.
- Due dates: add 30, 60 or 90 days to an invoice date, or 280 days (40 weeks) for a typical pregnancy due date estimate from the first day of the last period.
- Your age in days: use our age calculator, which also shows your next birthday.

Divide the days by 7. The Weeks and days box shows full weeks plus the leftover days.
Can I count only weekdays?
Yes. The Business days box counts Monday to Friday only.
