Digg Releases API, Flash Toolkit and Visualization Contest

Digg has released the Digg API which is now publicly available along with a Flash application toolkit and allows Digg users and partners to openly access all Digg data dating back to 2004.

Digg Application Programming Interface (API) has been created to let users and partners interact programmatically with Digg. The API returns Digg data in a form that can be easily integrated into an application or a web site.

Digg API Visualization Contest challenges you to come up with the most creative and dynamic Flash visualizations and applications that utilize the Digg API. Use the Digg API and Flash tooklit to create works in Adobe Flash and Apollo, submit by May 16th, expert judges will choose the top 10 finalists and Digg registered users will have a week to Digg (vote) the entrants that they like best and final winners will be announced.

Digg Visualization Contest
is open to legal residents of the U.S. only and entrants must be at least 13 years of age. Winner gets a Falcon Northwest Gaming PC, full catalog of EA games for the PC, and Adobe CS3 Master Collection!

    I’ve been dabbling with the Digg API and it’s pretty good.

    So far I’ve built…

    They’re still in early development but I’ve learnt a lot about the Digg API in the mean time.
