Listen to Free Hindi Music Online: 6 Best Bollywood Song Apps (2026)
Want to listen to free Hindi music online? You can stream almost every Bollywood song, old classic and new release for free in 2026, as long as you don’t mind a few ads. The Indian music app scene has changed a lot recently: Wynk, Hungama Music and Resso have all shut down, leaving Gaana, JioSaavn, Spotify, YouTube Music and Amazon Music as the best choices. Here’s how they compare, from someone who listens to Hindi songs while working every day.
Quick answer: For free Hindi songs with the biggest Bollywood catalogue, use JioSaavn or Gaana. For the best recommendations and playlists, use Spotify. For rare songs, remixes and live versions, use YouTube Music. If you have Amazon Prime, Amazon Music is included.

Best apps to listen to free Hindi music online
1. JioSaavn

JioSaavn is India’s biggest home-grown music streaming service, with a huge library of Bollywood, regional and devotional songs. The free version plays with ads on the web and app. It has excellent curated playlists like weekly Top 15 charts, new releases and decade-wise Bollywood hits. JioSaavn Pro removes ads, adds downloads and higher quality, and is often bundled free with Jio recharge plans.
2. Gaana

Gaana has been my long-time favourite for Hindi songs online. It has a clean interface, a player bar at the bottom, and easy playlists. It’s great for older Bollywood songs, ghazals and regional music in Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu and more. The free version has ads, while Gaana Plus adds ad-free listening, downloads and HD audio.
3. Spotify

Spotify has a large Bollywood catalogue and the best recommendations, thanks to features like Daily Mix, Discover Weekly, Blend and AI DJ. On the free plan you get ads and some limits on skipping in the mobile app. Spotify Premium in India is one of the most affordable anywhere, with Individual, Duo, Family and Student plans.
4. YouTube Music

YouTube Music is perfect for songs you can’t find elsewhere, including remixes, unplugged covers, live performances and old film songs uploaded by labels like T-Series, Saregama and Zee Music. You can switch between audio and video. The free version has ads and needs the screen on for mobile playback. YouTube Music Premium (or YouTube Premium) adds background play and downloads.
5. Amazon Music

Amazon Music comes with an Amazon Prime membership in India, so if you already have Prime, you get ad-free Hindi songs and downloads at no extra cost. It also works hands-free on Alexa speakers: just say “Alexa, play Arijit Singh songs”.
6. Apple Music
Apple Music has no free tier, but it has a strong Hindi catalogue, lossless and Dolby Atmos audio, and synced lyrics. After Wynk Music shut down in 2024, Airtel began offering Apple Music to its customers on selected plans, so check your Airtel Thanks app.
Which Hindi music app should you choose?
- Completely free with ads: JioSaavn, Gaana, Spotify Free or YouTube Music.
- Old Bollywood classics: Gaana or JioSaavn, or a retro player like Saregama Carvaan.
- Discovering new songs: Spotify.
- Already pay for Prime or Jio/Airtel plans: use Amazon Music, JioSaavn Pro or Apple Music for free.
What happened to Wynk, Hungama and Resso?
India’s music streaming market has consolidated. Airtel shut Wynk Music in 2024 and moved users to Apple Music offers, ByteDance closed Resso in January 2025, and Hungama Music shut down in April 2025. If you used those apps, Gaana and JioSaavn are the closest replacements.

JioSaavn and Gaana have the largest free Bollywood libraries. Spotify Free and YouTube Music are also good, especially for playlists and rare tracks.
Can I download Hindi songs for free legally?
Offline downloads need a paid plan on most apps, though Jio and Airtel recharges and Amazon Prime often include one. Avoid MP3 download sites, which are illegal and often carry malware.
Can I listen to Hindi songs online without an app?
Yes. JioSaavn, Gaana, Spotify, YouTube Music and Amazon Music all have web players that work in any browser.

I think Saavn is the best because it has the biggest collection of songs. Gaana is a good interface but does not have as big a library as Saavn (many of my favorite songs are not available on Gaana). Also, through Saavn, I can also listen to my saved playlists on my iPhone through their app!
I prefer Hindi music to others music. I have benefited from the best list of cool Hindi music sites.
