Microsoft Zune HD with HD Radio, OLED TouchScreen, Wi-Fi

Microsoft has unveiled Zune HD, its next generation Zune portable media player. Zune HD is the first portable media player that combines a built-in HD Radio receiver, high-definition (HD) video output capabilities, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) touch screen, Wi-Fi and an Internet browser.

Some key new Zune HD features are

  • Built-in HD Radio receiver – listen to high quality sound, with additional song and artist data broadcast by HD Radio stations and additional channels from their favorite stations multicasting in HD.
  • OLED touch screen – flip through music, movies with 16:9 widescreen format display (480×272 resolution) for amazing viewing
  • HD-compatible output – Watch supported 720p HD movies, TV shows and videos in high definition on your HDTV through the Zune HD & AV Dock
  • Full-screen Internet browser – optimized for multitouch functionality.
  • Wi-Fi enabled – instant streaming from over 5 million-tracks in Zune music store.

Zune HD is coming in fall in US. Moreover, Zune will extend its video service to Xbox LIVE internationally and expose the Zune brand to over 17 million international Xbox LIVE subscribers!
