Bollywood Actors on Twitter (X): Most Followed Stars in 2026

In January 2010 we listed 15 bollywood actors on twitter who had real, official accounts and tweeted themselves. This updated guide keeps that early list, shows which big Bollywood stars are most followed on X (the new name for Twitter) today, and explains how to spot official accounts and follow them easily.

Quick answer: Twitter is now called X, and many Bollywood stars still post there. Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are among the most followed Indians on X. Check the account is official before you follow, and group your favourite stars in an X List to see all their posts in one place.

2. Shahid Kapoor
3. Farhan Akhtar (tweeting at the time from his film account for Karthik Calling Karthik)

How to tell if a celebrity account is official

Fake and fan accounts often copy a star’s name and photo. Before you follow, check these signs:

• Links from the star: the safest check is a link to the X profile from the actor’s official website, Instagram profile or production house.
• Handle and history: official accounts usually have a long posting history and a join date going back years. Brand-new accounts with big claims are a warning sign.
• Followers and replies: real stars have large followings and are mentioned by other verified film industry accounts.
• Checkmark: a checkmark helps, but on X it can now also come from a paid subscription, so do not rely on it alone.

Follow all your favourite stars with an X List

Instead of following dozens of accounts in your main feed, you can create an X List, add your favourite Bollywood actors to it, and open the list whenever you want to catch up on film news. Lists can be public or private, and you can pin a list so it is easy to reach. If you are new to X, our guide on finding your first tweet on X shows a few handy search tricks too.
