Vote for New 7 Wonders of the World : Vote for Taj Mahal
October 21st, 2006Like traveling around the world? The current Seven Wonders of the World are outdated and the search is on for defining the New 7 Wonders of the World. The initiative started in 2000. Experts considered the 77 sites with the highest number of votes and shortlisted 21 finalists on January 1, 2006.
After a final 18 months of voting by the global public, the New 7 Wonders of the World will be announced during the Official Declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday, July 7, 2007 or 07.07.07.
The final year of the campaign will be marked with a World Tour (travel agents get busy!) visiting all 21 finalist wonders and a TV series to be produced by the world’s leading television production company Endemol. See the N7W World Tour Calendar, check with your travel agency and plan a trip to India to visit the Taj.
Indians should vote for the Taj Mahal in Agra, a top tourist destination in India. The world tour reaches Taj mahal on December 5, 2006. There are some cool Taj Mahal N7W products at their Cafepress online shop to show your pride and spread the word.
You can vote for your favorite wonder of the world. Register as a New7Wonders member and get 7 free votes. Vote and receive a personalized New7Wonders Certificate featuring that monument (US$2). Redefine the new travel destinations of the world.
